Knowledge + Kin

Trading at Brockwell Bounce – Knowledge + Kin

Based in London I launched the brand in July 2020. Named as a tribute to my Dad who worked his whole life as black cab driver “the Knowledge” being the name of the epic test Cabby’s need to pass to qualify. The Kin comes from a family first focus, my kin have been a huge support in starting the brand and my desire to move away from fast fashion into a more ethical lifestyle.

My ethos is to work with local artists and illustrators to turn their work into wearable art. When artists collaborate with me they’re paid for the designs and they are promoted to new audiences. The artist is always credited for their work so our tags include the story of each illustration and the artist bio. I come from a retail management background so I bring all the skills to promote their work so artists can concentrate on what they do best, art.

Both my t-shirts and tote bags are made from 100% cotton, curated in London and screen printed in the UK. Screen printing has a more artisan feel to it which I believe aligns well with the designs and ethos of the brand. The artwork won’t come off like some digital prints or peel away like vinyl can and the heavy cotton fabric softens with every wash but doesn’t lose shape. The print will age beautifully over time like your favorite vintage band t-shirt so add one to your collection because ultimately they’re just genuinely bangin’ tees.

Sustainability is at the forefront so all of my packaging is plastic free, all swing tags and artist info is printed on recycled paper. I use paper carrier bags and mailers for all purchases and I’ve also been known to jump on my bike and hand deliver locally in London.
